BGE DemonBall IFL Championship Match - Feb. 17, 1999
OK sports fans, here we are once again at the beautiful old United Center in Chi-Town. The stage is set for the Championship match of the first MicroTel DemonBall Cup! This DemonBall match is being brought to you by MicroTel, Tomorrow’s information Today!
OK, the Championship match is between Bobbie Sue’s Belles, and those Good ole boys from Tenn. the Red Dawn. The Belles clinched a spot in the Championship game with their 15 points total, but in 2nd place Red Dawn had 14 points. This has shaped up to look like a real barn burner folks.
So it looks like our two teams are all set, and there’s the gun.
The boys come out first and fast, heading straight for the ball. Here comes Bobby Sue’s girls, they’re getting themselves into position to blast the boys.
More maneuvering, as Red Dawn gets closer, and the Belles get their sights set on covering the approach to the ball. Both teams are being very careful at this point.
Bobby Sue is shouting orders to her girls, and .. look out a net has fallen over the Belles, trapping all of them. Billy Bob brings his boys up a little closer. The girls are still stuck, so Billy Bob jumps out and pops off a quick shot at Mary Jo and the shot goes wide. Mary Jo returns the fire and drills Billy Bob right through shoulder!
The girls finally break free of the net, and oh no, look out, somebody from the crowd has thrown a stink bomb right at the belles. It looks like this crowd is really pulling for Red Dawn. The girls are running from the stink, and Red takes a shot at Cindy Sue and misses!
The girls have reset themselves, and they have all lines to the ball covered. I don’t know how the boys can get the ball now. Well here goes Red again, he’s on the move and sprints past a wall taking a shot at Jessie May, but the shot slams into the wall, but Jessie doesn’t miss and Red goes down.
Now Bobby Sue runs out for the ball, she got it and passes it to Jessie May, she in turn passes it to Cindy Sue. And Jimmy ‘M’ is stuck behind a wall with no where to go.
The girls keep up the passing, getting closer and closer to the goal, and nothing can be done by Jimmy.
Now Jimmy takes a chance and fires a quick burst at Mary Jo and misses. Mary Jo doesn’t return his fire, she shouting something across the arena at Jimmy. Now she flips him off and just turns around, and bends over, tempting him to shoot at her behind! I don’t believe this folks, she is giving Jimmy a free shot. Meanwhile, Bobby Sue has the ball again, and is very close to scoring.
Jimmy takes that shot offered by Mary Jo, look out! She rolls out of the way behind the wall. Jimmy is sprinting for her, but Bobby Sue dives through the goal ending the match and making Bobby Sue’s Belles the first ever MicroTel Cup winners!
What a match that was, the belles out scoring the boys with a final of 8 points to zero! Red Dawn must be humiliated, to be beaten so badly by the belles. Oh well, there is always next season.
