BGE DemonBall IFL Match 3 - Jan 13, 1999

OK sports fans, here we are once again at the beautiful old United Center in Chi-Town bringing you the third un-official IFL match of the year. This DemonBall match is being brought to you by MicroTel, Tomorrow’s information Today!

OK, today’s match is between the same four teams in Chi-Town’s first amateur DemonBall league. MicroTel has not yet heard from the IFL sanctioning board yet, so this is still an un-official IFL game. But what the heck, the fans still love the blood shed!

Once again we have Bobbie Sue’s Belles, the Vengequan team called Crying Wind, those Good ole boys from Tenn. the Red Dawn, and our sponsors team The MicroTel Marauders. There has been one change, the Coach of Bobbie Sue’s Belles has been tragically killed during a recently held Quartering. Seems the mutant took a few boys out before he bit the big one! The new coach is Jeffy Bob.

So it looks like our teams are all set, and there’s the gun.

Crying wind moves out first, getting themselves into position. MicroTel comes out, and lines themselves up behind a wall. This doesn’t look like a good move, if Red Dawn comes out, they can gun down all of the Marauders. But they are set, and the Boys are coming out, they are within sight and range of MicroTel, but they aren’t shooting. Oh boy, I smell and alliance here, this should be very interesting folks. And her comes Bobby Sue and her girls, they get themselves set.

Now the Vengequan are moving, Cloudy Water comes out from around a wall and fires at Mary Jo, she returns the fire and ohh, they both go down. MicroTel gets themselves ready for a run at the DemonBall, and the boys seem to be setting themselves up to cover the Marauders. Cindy Sue runs out and takes a shot at Jimmy ‘M’ and he’s hit, he fires back but too short. The rest of Red Dawn maneuvers around and out of sight.

OK, Stinking Forest steps out and shoots at Cindy Sue and misses. But Soaring Eagle tries to get Cindy Sue and blasts her with his Starbeam. MicroTel makes their move, Sgt. Phemus runs out to take a shot at Soaring Eagle, he misses, draws his sword and charges in and slices Soaring Eagle into small bits, wow!

Pvt. Johnson heads for the ball, raises his rifle and takes Stinking Forest out of the game, and gets the ball! Bobbie Sue draws a bead on Vernin, and gets her man! Jessie May takes her turn, and following her leader shoots and nails Pvt. Johnson, but the trooper shoots back and gets Jessie May with a head shot, ohh! Red steps out, he’s taking aim on a MicroTel trooper, it looks like the alliance is over as Red blasts Pvt. Biltmore from behind, but he misses. Now Billy Bob takes a crack at it, but he does not miss! The poor guy, he never saw it coming, right between the shoulder blades. Little Bear is on the move now, he’s got the jump on Sgt. Phemus and takes him out quickly.

The lone trooper Pvt. Loomis is on the move, he’s got Billy Bob in his sights, but he misses, Billy Bob just ducked out of the way! Little Bear is on the warpath again, he’s chasing Bobby Sue, he’s got her! She’s down and the Belles are out with out a point scored.

It looks like Little Bear isn’t done, a tough shot but he misses Pvt. Loomis. Red moves in and takes a shot at Pvt. Loomis, but he misses. Now he’s wading in with his pipe wrench and ouch, ohh that’s bloody. Red had pulverized that Trooper, and now Reds got the ball!

The boys are pulling back now that the Belles and MicroTel are both out of the game. Trying to put some distance between themselves and Little Bear. But speaking of the devil, her comes Little Bear, he takes a shot at Red and, wow! Billy Bob through himself in front of Red and took that Laser shot. What a team sacrifice that was, boy if ever there was a team player, ole’ Billy Bob is the man.

Now we are down to just two players, Little Bear jumps out to pick Red off, but misses. Red is quick to fire back but misses. Now Little Bear is pulling out his tomahawk and charging Red, he brings his wrench around... ohh too late. That Vengequan has scalped Red. Now Little Bear has the ball, and he’s the sole survivor of today’s’ match.

So in recap, MicroTel earns two points for possessions, Red Dawn adds four points for possessions, and Crying Wind earns one possession point and two points for being the surviving team. So here is a look at the standings after three matches. Three more to go before the playoffs.

So here is the league standings after 3 matches.

Bobbie Sue’s Belles:6 pts
MicroTel Marauders:6 pts
Crying Wind:5 pts
Red Dawn:5 pts

OK, that’s all for today, so signing off from the United Center in Chi-Town, I’m Rick O’Day, so long, see you all next week!
