Chi-Town MicroTel DemonBall Match 2 - March 17,1999
Well sports fans, here we are back at the beautiful old U T Center in Chi-Town bringing you the best in DemonBall action. This DemonBall match is being brought to you by MicroTel, Tomorrow’s information Today!
All righty, today’s match is the second match in the new season here in old Chi-Town. Once again the Black Rain Vengequan tribe is here with Howling Wind. The Cappalonni Family has a team, Whatsa Matta U. Then there are the two teams from the Gary Indiana Mutants, first there is The Ghoulies, and Team HERD. And last but certainly not least, we have team that has traveled all the way from Texas, representing DeadTech Systems Inc., The Bone Squad.
So teams are getting ready, so let’s rock and roll , and there’s the gun.
The Bone Squad comes out first, setting up their fields of fire. The Ghoulies are next, straight up the middle they go, with Team HERD next, Slobber Mouth and Sang go up the middle, with the other two providing flank coverage. The Orgs are next, being cautious, and Howling Wind comes running out, sending two braves left and two up the middle.
Yellow Cloud and Running Bear run straight to the hard cover on their left, and Yellow Cloud opens up on Kilroy, and nails him in the shoulder. As Kilroy goes down, he unloads his gun and sends flames leaping at Yellow Cloud, who’s vest is now in flames. Now Running Bears fires a burst at Cartman, the poor guy never saw the shot coming, and it’s two down for the Bone Squad. Look out, Slobber Mouth has Longshanks in his sights, he catches him in the ribs, but Longshanks returns the shot and picks Slobber Mouth off as well. Freak Acknon tries a quickie and blasts Soaring Eagle through the chest.
Nicky the Nose can’t resist and fires a quick burst at Freak Acknon, but the shot hits nothing but wall. Freak #42 doesn’t like that, and returns fire and drills Nicky the Nose through the neck! Skull Duggery runs out from the wall and sprays the area catching Freak #42.
Yellow Cloud can’t seem to get those flames out, and he goes down! Rocco comes out, sensing the Ghoulies are too close to the ball, and blasts a hole in Freak Acknon’s belly. Here comes Jimmy the Fixer, following Rocco’s lead, he double times it out from the wall and lays down fire, taking Freak Nelson out of the match! Freak Nelson returns the fire as he falls but the shot harmlessly hits the wall. But Neal N’ Bob opens up on Jimmy the Fixer and takes him out! Not to be out done, Skull Duggery pops off a quick one and nails Rocco right in the back. Vinnie Gumba doesn’t like that, he runs out from the wall and blasts Skull Duggery before he even saw Vinnie. That puts the Bone Squad out of the match early! Sang Tooth runs up and shoots Neal N’ Bob and point blank range, right in the back, thus eliminating the Ghoulies. Now we are down to Howling Wind, Team Herd, and Vinnie Gumba.
Look out, the fans are shooting at Team Herd, they’re running for cover,...Hey, lets get security in those stands. Squatting Wolf takes advantage and pulls out from his wall and targets Snag Tooth and hits nothing but wall. Now Running Bear gives it a try, and he too hits the wall again missing Snag Tooth! Vinnie Gumba sees his opportunity, and fires a burst at Stinky, but he too just can’t seem to hit any Goatheads. Snag Tooth takes his queue and sprints for the ball, he’s... got it. Stinky runs up, and takes the hand-off, moves back and hand-off to Bart, who takes it around the wall. One point to Team HERD!
Vinnie Gumba runs out and fires at Bart, but misses. Now he’s charging Bart and just pulverizes Bart into the ground and takes the ball! Point to Whatsa Matta U!
Howling Wind is moving to get into position to try for the ball. But here comes Team Herd, Snag Tooth steps out and sprays the area before him taking Vinnie Gumba and the Orgs out of the match. The ball is down, and Snag Tooth quickly grabs it. And Stinky and Bart move up to defend.
Howling Wind makes it’s move, Squatting Wolf tries a shot, and gets Bart in the side, Bart fires as he falls and barely picks off Squatting Wolf. Now the HERD is on the run, trying to out distance Running Bear. But the lone Vengequan has no choice, he fires at Stinky but misses. Stinky fires back with a quick burst and gets Running Bear in the chest. Match over, Team Herd gets 4 points for possessions, and the two match survivor points as well. This puts Team Herd into the League lead.
Well, here is the quick wrap up. Whatsa Matta U managed to get 2 possessions of the ball for 2 points. Team HERD managed to grab the ball for four possessions, and get the match survivor points for a grand total of 6 points. So here is the league standings after 2 matches.
